World Prayer Tabernacle is one church body with three different campuses operating in: Covington, Louisiana; Chalmette Louisiana; and Picayune, Mississippi. The ministry had its origin in St. Bernard Parish in 1954. It began as a small full gospel mission work which met each week in a home.

It grew under several pastors and several building programs. In 1991, Pastor Carl Catalanotto became Senior Pastor. Under the leading of the Holy Spirit, the church was transitioned from a traditional church structure into a soul winning, home cell structure. In August 2005, the church was approaching 600 people in attendance. However, Hurricane Katrina destroyed the entire St. Bernard community including the church building. It also dispersed the congregation throughout the South. From the remnant that was left, the Lord established three church campuses.
